A collection of Nick Saban’s best ass-chewings of 2016.

Nick Saban isn’t an angry guy, necessarily, but he definitely gets fired up when it comes to football. Coach Saban feels no need to hold back his emotions and we are all better off for it.

Here are some of his Nick Saban’s best ass-chewings of 2016….

Against WKU

Most coaches would be pretty satisfied with a 38-10 win. But most coaches don’t have 5 national championships, either.

With 2 minutes to go, Alabama had a 38-3 lead and the ball. Maintaining possession and running out the clock should have been easy. But a botched snap led to a fumble recovered by Western Kentucky. Instead of a 38-3 final score, the Hilltoppers got the ball on a short field.

A few snaps later, the Alabama defense gave up their first touchdown of the season. To Western Kentucky. Nick Saban is a reasonable man. He didn’t criticize Jeremy Pruitt for his defense being a little worn out at the end of a game in extreme heat.

Lane Kiffin, on the other hand? Miscommunication on the snap is probably something Nick Saban would call a “dumb mental mistake.” And you don’t get a pass on dumb mental mistakes.

So Saban found Kiffin and let him have it. After the game, a reporter asked Coach Saban about the argument that they had.

Saban’s response?

“Those aren’t arguments, they’re ass-chewings.”

This was probably his most negative press conference of the season. And it came after a 38-10 win. Some people are just never happy.

Never change, coach. Your unceasing pursuit of excellence is the most important part of the process.
