Jarret Johnson had multiple offers coming out of high school but when Johnson received an Alabama football offer he stopped considering other schools.
Johnson played as true freshman in 1999 and started his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. Johnson made the Tide records books against Southern Miss in September 2000, by making five tackles for a loss. That performance places him 4th all-time in Tide single games tackles for a loss.
Jarret is 8th all-time in Tide career tackles for a loss with 39 and he is 4th all-time in Alabama Football career sacks with 23.
In 2003, Johnson was drafted in the 4th round of the NFL draft by the Baltimore Ravens. By his fourth season with the Ravens, Johnson was moved off the defensive line and became a linebacker.
He played nine seasons for the Ravens, 2003 – 2011, playing in 143 games. From 2007-2011 Johnson made 80 consecutive starts for the Ravens, at the time a franchise record.
Following his long run with Baltimore, Johnson played three seasons for San Diego, 2012-2014. For the Chargers, Johnson played in 41 games with 37 starts. His last season in San Diego, he was team captain, made 51 tackles and made one sack.
In Johnson’s NFL career he made 506 tackles, 25.5 sacks, forced 11 fumbles and made three interceptions.
