Alabama basketball fans struggle to engage in March Madness once the Crimson Tide season turns to March Sadness season after season.

While most of the nation succumbs to March Madness ‘Bracket Mania,’ Alabama basketball fans must cope with another failed season, another year of dashed dreams. In an effort to prepare for this calamity, we offered When March Madness Turns to March Sadness a few days ago.

Now that we are inside the belly of the March Sadness Beast, sober reflection heals no pain. A more primal response is needed. We need to follow the example below. Lower your car window, open your front door, go up on the roof and SCREAM:

If your core rage has subsided through Scream-Therapy, let’s save your voice by making a list. Put down everything about Alabama basketball that makes you want to scream. You may even add the entire universe of college basketball to your scream-inducing horizon.

I promise this exercise will help.

Here is my Alabama basketball – College basketball Scream List:

I just want to scream when:

  • I find out Dick Vitale is broadcasting an Alabama game
  • Whenever I hear Bruce Pearl referenced as a good basketball coach
  • Whenever John Calipari opines on anything
  • Every time Alabama basketball gets another foul for a moving screen
  • Every time Alabama basketball sets a high-ball screen that leads to nothing
  • Every time an out-of-position Tide defender gets a reach-in foul
  • Every time Jimmy Taylor goes to the foul-line
  • Every time I bemoan the loss of an officiating concept known as “no-harm-no-foul”
  • Every time Alabama wastes a possession with a bad shot, preceded by players standing around
  • Every time a Tide player jacks up a not catch-and-shoot three
  • Every time a Tide inside player goes up soft
  • Every time a Tide player, positioned under the basket, passes the ball to the perimeter
  • Every time I see empty Tide Pride seats in Coleman
  • Every time a Tide fan reminisces that Mark Gottfried was a good coach
  • Anytime Auburn, Tennessee and Ole Miss win, at anything
  • Every time I hear someone say Coleman Coliseum is a good arena

I go could go on and on … But I need to update my March Madness Bracket.

Despite March Sadness, we Alabama fans can be cautiously optimistic about the next Alabama basketball season. Until then, does anyone have a 2017 football depth chart you can share? I have emailed the athletic department numerous times asking for Nick’s latest chart. I have not received a single response.
