Alabama Softball is continuing to rack up the wins, posting a 26-2 record and a nineteen-game winning streak. That’s thanks mostly to their stellar pitching staff, who has been consistently dominating the defensive side of the ball.

We take a look at how this Alabama softball staff compares to the Alabama pitching staffs of the past five years. In a year where the offense has been shaky at best, it’s been the pitching in the circle that has given Alabama the X-factor in each of its games.

The rotation of Sydney Littlejohn, Alexis Osorio, and Madi Moore have earned each and every win they have collected this season and have been unstoppable. If one pitcher seems to struggle, an opponent cannot rest easy. The next pitcher in the rotation will come out and tidy things up for Alabama.

Of course, that has always been the type of game Alabama plays. Yes, it’s not just Alabama Football that possesses the mantra of “Defense wins championships”. Alabama Softball, as you will see, has always been one that relies on its dominant pitching to win games.

When comparing this team to others, it’s important to not just look at the statistics. It’s important to also factor how well the pitchers rotate between each other to complement each other’s strength.

So how does the 2017 rotation of Osorio, Littlejohn and Moore size up to the past five years?

Let’s take an in-depth look at the current staff and the previous five pitching staffs of Alabama Softball. We will rank them from No. 6 to No.1.
