Alabama head coach Kristy Curry told rolltide.com

"“We played a really good basketball team today. They do a great job of shortening the game and really executing. We were fortunate down the stretch to get enough stops. This was just a fun game for our fans, and I appreciate everybody that came out.”"

The Lady Crimson Tide was led by junior forward Ashley Williams in scoring as she led the team with 15 points. Sophomore forward Shaquera Wade also contributed 10 points and freshman Ashley Knight added 8 points as well. The biggest advantage the Lady Crimson Tide had over the Trojans was the points scored in the paint with Alabama holding a 38-10 advantage over Little Rock.

The first two quarters favored Little Rock as the Trojans took a 32-23 lead at halftime. The Lady Crimson Tide seemed to struggle with the Trojans defense but in typical Alabama Basketball fashion, they made adjustments at halftime and came out aggressive in the second half.

Alabama head coach Kristy Curry noticed the sluggish play in the first half when she stated to rolltide.com

"“Our energy in the third and the fourth quarter was completely different than the first two quarters. I’ll go back and try to work on that these next couple of days.”"

The Lady Crimson Tide came out with a ferocious attitude that showed a never quit resilience. Even after Little Rock took a 13 point lead late in the third quarter, Alabama maintained their composure and fought their way to a 49-48 lead in the fourth quarter.

Alabama Basketball had battled to a 53-53 tie with under 10 seconds to play when freshman guard Jordan Lewis pulled down a rebound and put the game-winning shot in with 5 seconds remaining. The crowd erupted as Alabama had erased a double-digit deficit to claim their second WNIT victory and to move on to the Sweet 16.

The Lady Crimson Tide will now host the Tulane Green Wave this Thursday, March 23rd at 7:00 PM and Alabama Basketball needs all of you there to help make Coleman Coliseum loud.

Alabama head coach Kristy Curry told rolltide.com

"“We need a great crowd in here Thursday. We need for the Crimson Tide fans to get behind this team and be here for us at 7 on Thursday night.”"
