Punter – J.K. Scott
No mystery here.
Placekicker
There is mystery when it comes to placekicker. Much to the dismay of Tide fans, the expected to be capable at mid-range kicker, Andy Pappanastos was a dud at A-Day. He missed two very makable field goals, although it has been suggested the holder was at fault on one.
We guess late-arriving Joseph Bulovas will win the field goal kicker job. Bulovas has a big leg but If he exhibits any consistency problems, the kicker will probably be J. K. Scott. Scott performed okay at A-Day despite missing a potential game-winner for the White team.
Long Snapper – Thomas Fletcher
When a long snapper is given an Alabama football scholarship as a freshman, he will start.
Punt Return
Trevon Diggs or Xavian Marks are the likely returners based upon experience. One of the less used running backs could earn this job, as could speedster Henry Ruggs.
Kick Return
We expect along with Diggs and Marks, Chadarius Townsend will be an option. Knowledgeable insiders predict Townsend will be developed into a Kenyan Drake type role. Henry Ruggs and Najee Harris are also options.
There are other very gifted athletes that can be expected to shine in special teams roles. Expect to see Dylan Moses, Ben Davis and late enrollee VanDarius Cowan as key special teams contributors. Add Mack Wilson to the group above and Alabama may have the only kick coverage team in the nation with four 5-Star players.
