O. J. Howard
Has any NFL first-round draft pick ever had a quieter college career than O. J. Howard? Other than a lineman, the answer is absolutely not. O.J. Howard had a very good Alabama football career despite being under-utilized.
Fortunately for Howard, being under-utilized does not equate to being under-appreciated. Howard may be the only player on a list for every team in the 2017 NFL draft.
If ever there was a prototypical NFL tight end, it is O.J. Howard. Despite the subdued stats from his Crimson Tide career, NFL scouts as a group are very bullish on Howard’s NFL potential.
Mike Mayock has Howard listed as the top tight end in the draft. Draft experts have Howard going No. 5; No. 6; No. 10; No. 12; No. 16; No. 18 and No. 20 in the first round. Most of those projections would make Howard the second Tide player selected in the draft.
