Starting Inside Linebackers – Shaun Dion Hamilton and Rashaan Evans

A healthy Shaun Dion Hamilton will start alongside Rashaan Evans at Will and Mike linebackers. Mack Wilson and Keith Holcombe will be the key backups. Mack Wilson showed again during the A-Day game that he deserves a key role. Rashaan Evans and Hale Hentges earned the spring Lee Roy Jordan Headhunter Award. Wilson hits just as hard as his two teammates.

Keith Holcombe, along with Irv Smith and Jamar King won the spring Jerry Duncan “I Like To Practice” award. Holcombe was the leading tackler in the A-Day game with 10 stops.

Outside Linebackers – Christian Miller, Anfernee Jennings and Terrell Hall

All three players should be considered starters. They will rotate based on formation and situation.

At Sam, we expect Christian Miller will start. Jamey Mosley will likely be the backup.

At Jack, Anfernee Jennings and Terrell Hall will rotate.  In some situations, Rashaan Evans will also fill in as an outside rusher. Nick Saban has also talked about using Mack Wilson as an edge rusher. Alabama football will have no shortage of edge rushers in 2017.

It is unclear how much action Ben Davis and Dylan Moses will see at linebacker in 2017.
