Alabama Football: Crimson Tide players on NFL week one rosters

The NFL season begins this week and 43 former Alabama football players on listed on NFL team rosters. Check out the players and their NFL teams.

When the dust settles or in today’s era when the rubber pellets quit flying from the NFL preseason, 53 players are chosen for each team. In the opening week of the 2017 NFL season, 43 former Alabama football players made NFL teams.

Technically there are 39 players on active rosters. Four former Crimson Tiders are listed as ‘injured reserve’ (IR) players. At this point in the 2016 NFL season, 35 former Alabama football players were on active rosters.

Alabama football is well represented throughout the league with only seven teams having no former Tiders. The Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Giants each have three former Alabama players, including the players on IR. The New York Giants have four former Alabama football players.

Players seeking teams are Arie and Cyrus Kouandjio, Richard Mullaney, Bradley Sylve, Vinnie Sunseri, and Korren Kirven. NFL veterans and former Tiders, Wallace Gilberry, Rashad Johnson and Roman Harper are also available free agents.
