Alabama remains No. 1 in the Associated Press and Amway Coaches polls this week following the Tide’s 59-0 win over Vanderbilt last Saturday. Ole Miss is unranked coming off a bye week.

Series Notes

Alabama and Ole Miss will meet for the 65th time on Saturday. The Crimson Tide leads the all-time series, 48-11-2 (after vacations), and won last year’s meeting, 48-43, in Oxford. Ole Miss handed Alabama its most recent SEC loss in its last visit to Tuscaloosa as the Rebels came away with a 43-37 win at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Sept. 19, 2015. Alabama head coach Nick Saban is 12-3 all-time (11-3 after vacations) and 8-2 at Alabama (7-2 after
vacations) in his career against the Rebels. This is Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke’s first
meeting with the Tide.

•Ole Miss is 33-47-3 all-time in SEC openers. The Rebels have beaten the Crimson Tide in two of the last the three meetings, including a 43-37 win over No. 1 Alabama in the last meeting in Tuscaloosa in 2015.
• The last time the Rebels faced the nation’s No. 1 team was Alabama last season.  Ole Miss is 1-11 all-time versus the top-ranked team in the land.
• Alabama is the Rebels’ first ranked opponent this season.
• Matt Luke is in his 10th season at Ole Miss but first season as head coach, taking the reins of his alma mater as the 38th head coach in program history.
• Sophomore QB Shea Patterson leads the SEC and ranks second nationally in passing yards per game. He leads also leads the league and is seventh nationally in passing efficiency and eighth in touchdowns.

Next Up For The Tide:

The Crimson Tide will travel to College Station, Texas, to meet SEC West rival Texas A&M. Alabama and A&M will meet for the 10th time in a series that dates back to 1942. The Crimson Tide leads the all-time series, 7-2, including a 3-0 record at Kyle Field. Alabama won last year’s meeting, 33-14, at Bryant-Denny Stadium and is 4-1 against the Aggies since Texas A&M joined the Southeastern Conference in 2012.
