No. 2 – Alabama football players are avengers

Alabama football players are seeking more than revenge against Clemson. Mere revenge will not be enough. The Crimson Tide team, particularly those who played against Clemson last season, intend to avenge the national championship loss.

There is a difference between revenge and avenge. The latter exacts satisfaction not just by righting a wrong but in addition, punishing the wrongdoer. Multiple insiders, close enough to have contact with Crimson Tide players this week, attest to ferocious intent evident in the players.

Nick Saban allows the team’s ‘players council’ to set curfews on post-game trips. This week the players’ group established one night at midnight and the others at 11:00 PM. Saban said, for once, he thought that might be a tad too strict. The players did not agree.

Alabama football is favored in the game but the perspective of the players is they have something to prove. After last season’s loss, Reuben Foster said this about Clemson.

"At Alabama, we never lose faith. It’s just they were the best team, they wanted it more and they limited their mistakes and just really went after it."

This Alabama Crimson Tide team is staunchly determined that Monday night Clemson will not ‘want it more.’
