Check out the short visitor list for the final recruiting weekend along with the latest news on key Alabama football prospects.

There is one more weekend for campus visits in the 2018 recruiting cycle. Alabama football chose to bring in as many prospects as possible for the national championship celebration weekend. The result is a small group in Tuscaloosa for February 2-5.

Many top Alabama football prospects and three current commits are visiting other campuses this weekend. After Sunday there will be no more in-person contact leading up to Signing Day on Wednesday, February 7th.

Tuscaloosa Visitors this weekend

This list will be updated as additional information is available.

  • Jaylen Moody – 3-Star ILB from Conway, SC. Moody is considered a backup to Quay Walker and Vernon Jackson flipping their commitments to other schools. Walker is visiting Georgia and Jackson is visiting Texas A&M.
  • Leon O’Neal Jr. – 4-Star Safety from Cypress, TX. O’Neal is a heavy lean to Texas A&M who the Tide started chasing late. He originally committed to the Aggies but after de-committing has visited Oklahoma, Clemson and Georgia. The Tide originally offered O’Neal over a year ago. UPDATED: O’Neal is not visiting. Best guess is Alabama coaches decided there was no room for him in the class.
  • Moro Ojomo – 3-Star DT from Katy, TX. Texas is the leader for Ojomo and he is scheduled to visit Oregon this weekend. Alabama football staff are trying hard to make it a trip to Tuscaloosa instead. The Tide only offered Oromo on January 30th. UPDATED: Ojomo is no longer expected in Tuscaloosa this weekend.

The Alabama football staff will also host several underclassmen this weekend.

Tide commits and top prospects visiting other schools

As mentioned above, Tide commit Quay Walker will be visiting Georgia. Tide commits Vernon Jackson and Bobby Brown will visit Texas A&M.

Walker and Jackson may already be foregone conclusions for a late flip. Losing Bobby Brown late would be a major blow to 2018 defensive line recruiting. Ojomo is the fallback option.

  • Malik Langham – 4-Star, DE will visit Auburn. Langham grew up as a Tigers fan. Most recruiting insiders believe he will sign with the Tide.
  • Jacob Copeland – 4-Star, WR will visit Florida. Once a Florida commit, the Tide and the Gators are fighting over Copeland.
  • Isaac Taylor Stuart -5-Star CB will visit Tennessee.
  • High school teammates, 5-Star CB’s, Patrick Surtain Jr. and Tyson Campbell will visit Miami. Most experts believe the Tide leads for Surtain Jr. LSU remains a threat.
  • Nicholas Petit-Frere – 5-Star OT will visit Ohio State.
  • Causing considerable consternation for Alabama football fans, 3-Star, QB prospect Brock Purdy is scheduled to visit Texas A&M.

The list of top prospects not in Tuscaloosa this weekend is worrisome to Alabama football fans. There are several top prospects not taking visits on the last weekend: Justyn Ross (WR), Jaylen Waddle (WR), Brevin White (QB) and Eddie Smith (CB) are staying home on the final weekend.

UPDATED: Brevin White is sticking with Princeton. It appears Jaylen Waddle will visit Texas A&M this weekend.
