Former Alabama football players and a few current players were evaluated by all 32 NFL teams on Wednesday in Tuscaloosa. NFL Scouts, GM’s and five head coaches took part.

The NFL evaluators at Wednesday’s Alabama football Pro Day included five NFL head coaches, six General  Managers and close to 70 scouts. The head coach group was Bill Belichick, Mike Tomlin, Marvin Lewis Mike Vrabel and Matt Patricia.

In addition to the former Alabama football players at the recent NFL Combine, five more former players participated: Brad Bozeman; Cam Sims; Austin Johnson; J.C. Hassenauer and Jamar King. From the Combine group, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Shaun Dion Hamilton, Ronnie Harrison, Da’Ron Payne. Anthony Averett met with teams but did not work out.

Ronnie Harrison has a hamstring problem and only did the vertical jump and the broad jump at the Combine. He was not able to run at Pro Day either. Rashaan Evans did everything on Wednesday except run. Both players will get another opportunity at a follow-up Pro Day on March 28th. If they cannot run then, they will be timed by individual teams later.

Late in the day, current Alabama football players Christian Miller, Isaiah Buggs, Terrell Lewis and Mack Wilson did drills for the NFL onlookers.

Brad Bozeman was big news on Wednesday. He weighed in at 298 pounds, about 32 pounds lighter than his weight at the national championship game. Bozeman discussed his weight,

"we (agent and family) thought it would be a nice thing to show that I had the discipline to lose weight and get down to a certain weight."

Bozeman has been recovering from a pectoral muscle tear but was still able to bench 225 pounds, 27 times. Recent mock drafts place Bozeman as a fifth or sixth round selection.

New Tide analysts in attendance?

In addition to having Belichick in the house, there was a buzz about some other coaches in attendance. Expected to be, Tide offensive analyst, Butch Jones was dressed in Crimson Tide apparel. Two other former college head coaches also attended, Rich Rodriquez and Bret Bielema. Twitter exploded with speculation both would soon join Jones as analysts on Nick Saban’s staff.

Media observers commented on strong Pro Day performances by Rashaan Evans, Tony Brown, Brad Bozeman and Cam Sims. Former Alabama football QB, Blake Sims took part in the passing drills with the receivers. Blake admitted to reporters afterward he still has NFL aspirations.

One other Pro Day tidbit from Robert Foster is a scheduled March workout for the New Orleans Saints. Many former Alabama football players will do individual team workouts in the coming weeks.
