8:02 PM Update: In case Alabama fans are bored waiting for some Crimson Tide action, check this out.

7:40 PM Update: First defensive back taken in the draft is Denzel Ward, cornerback from Ohio State.

6:55 PM Update: Lots of chatter that Green Bay really wants Minkah and don’t believe he will be available at No.14. The Packers may be trying to move up to increase their chances.

Let’s have a fun night Alabama football fans. Tonight, Friday night and Saturday, dreams will be both achieved and broken. The Crimson Tide can break team draft records over the next few days.

Four first-round picks will tie the Alabama football NFL Draft record set in 2011, 2012 and 2017. Most NFL draft experts project Minkah Fitzpatrick, Calvin Ridley, Da’Ron Payne and Rashaan Evans will be chosen in the first-round. There is a chance Ronnie Harrison will get a first-round call as well.

The Crimson Tide one year record for players drafted is 10, set in the 2017 Draft. That record could be broken this year. Up to 15 former Alabama football players could be drafted. If, as expected, Brad Bozeman, Bo Scarbrough and Shaun Dion Hamilton are drafted in the late rounds, the Tide should at least set a new team record with 11 selections. The all-time record for one draft is Ohio State with 14 picks in 2004.

Check out how dominant Alabama football has been in the NFL Draft this decade.

2010-2017 Total Draft Picks

  • Alabama – 61 total draft picks
  • LSU – 52
  • Florida – 50
  • Ohio State – 46
  • Florida State – 45

In the 2000’s decade, Ohio State led with 69 players drafted. In the 1990’s decade, Notre Dame led with 68 players drafted. Alabama football will blow past those numbers in the 2018 Draft and add more to the total in 2019. That is Draft Dominance.

While we wait for the first round to begin, check out the video profiles of former Tide players.

Updates will be added at the top of this post as selections are made in the Draft.
