Alabama football continued preparation for Louisville Wednesday afternoon with another session inside the Hank Crisp practice facility.

Alabama football continued Louisville preparation Wednesday afternoon. The Wednesday session is the last practice each week during the season that allows media viewing periods. Thursday practice sessions are always closed in the regular season. Short of any insider tidbits, little more will be learned about starting roles until Saturday.

The media viewing periods can be short. Unless two viewing periods are included for a practice, the viewing time is sometimes less than 10 minutes. The Alabama football beat reporters work hard collecting worthwhile information based on their limited exposure.

Alabama football moved inside Wednesday due to rain. The team worked out in shorts and shells. Nothing in the viewing period gave an indication about a starting QB for Saturday. Observers did note a change in practice pattern. Instead of working with defensive backs coach, Karl Scott, Nick Saban watched the quarterbacks.

One item for slight concern is Shyheim Carter was working with a brace on his arm. No other new information could be gleaned about injured players. Alabama football fans already know Terrell Lewis and Chris Allen will be out for several more months. Matt Womack could return in several weeks. Stephon Wynn might be able to return in a few weeks.

Previously injured running backs, Najee Harris and Josh Jacobs have looked good in drills all week. Both players appear to be at or near full speed.

Nick Saban Media Session

Alabama fans hoping to learn more from Nick Saban after practice must have been disappointed. Saban did his normal Wednesday media review. His comments were all consistent with Saban themes heard numerous times in the preseason. None of the media questions concerned a starting quarterback. The Alabama football beat reporters knew Saban was not going to provide any new QB information.

Saban did disclose Mike Locksley will handle his game offensive coordinator role from the press box. QB coach, Dan Enos will be on the sideline. New Tide defensive coordinator, Tosh Lupoi will call plays from the sideline.

For Crimson Tide fans still waiting on the highlight of this report – Alabama football will wear crimson, Saturday night in Orlando. So there’s that.
