Ole Miss
The two Ole Miss wins in 2018 came against Texas Tech (47-27) and FCS opponent, Southern Illinois (76-41). There was some optimism from Ole Miss fans after the defense held the high-scoring Red Raiders to 27 points. Last week, optimism for the 2018 defense dimmed considerably. The Salukis scored five first-half touchdowns and led at the break, 38-35. The Southern Illinois scores were not flukes. The five drives ranged from 56 to 76 yards. With five minutes left in the third quarter, Ole Miss led 42-41. From that point on, Ole Miss cruised to an easy victory.
Ole Miss can lay claim to the top wide receiving group in the nation. QB, Jordan Ta’amu is a very accurate passer. While the 2018 defense may not have improved over last season, the offense is more balanced and even more explosive than it was with Shea Patterson as the quarterback.
Former Alabama football linebacker, Freddie Roach is the defensive line coach for Ole Miss. Henry Ruggs III, younger brother, Kevontae Ruggs is an Ole Miss freshman and a starting outside linebacker.

What to expect
Saturday will be an opportunity for Ole Miss to improve its 1-12 record against No. 1 ranked teams. The town, the stadium and the team will be sky-high in the powder blues. Ole Miss is capable of scoring points in bunches and will test the Alabama Crimson Tide defense. However many points Ole Miss scores, Alabama football is capable of scoring more.
Oxford, MS is a lovely place to visit. For Tide fans driving in, leave early as a way to counter the normal traffic jams before (and after) a game.
