Overall: Alabama leads the series 8-2
Last Meeting: Oct. 7, 2017, Alabama Crimson Tide 27 – Texas A&M 19
"Alabama leads the series … dating back to the first meeting in the 1942 Cotton Bowl, a 29-21 Alabama win that secured a piece of the 1941 national championship. The Aggies defeated theTide in the 1968 Cotton Bowl, 20-16."
The 1968 Crimson Tide loss was a victory for then Aggies, head coach, Gene Stallings. Coach Bryant hated to lose but as the photo below shows, the Bear was happy for his former player and former assistant coach.
Nick Saban is 5-1 against the Aggies. The lone loss came in 2012 when Johnny Manziel led TAMU to an upset in Tuscaloosa.

Texas A&M
This is the SEC opener for the Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies. After coming close to an upset of Clemson in week two, Jimbo Fisher has his team quickly inside the top 25. Last season was a tough contest in College Station with the Alabama Crimson Tide coming out on top 27-19.
Fisher worked as the LSU offensive coordinator, under Nick Saban, from 2000-2004.

What to expect
Going into Saturday, Nick Saban is 12-0 in games against his former assistant coaches. That streak is not likely to end in Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2018.
The main question is whether the Tide will just win or again explode. The Aggies will be the toughest test in the still young 2018 season.
