LSU at Florida

The LSU Tigers and Florida Gators have a tremendous amount riding on the line for both teams during this week’s SEC matchup. LSU enters undefeated with eyes on reaching the College Football Playoffs for the first time in school history. For Florida, it must win out in SEC play in order to have a shot at the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.

Florida enters the game after a huge homecoming win last week for Dan Mullen’s team in Starkville against the Mississippi State Bulldogs and LSU is fresh off their drumming of Ole Miss in Baton Rouge. However, for both teams, one constant question mark remains; the quarterback position.

For LSU QB Joe Burrow after leading his team to victory against Auburn three weeks ago, the question remains if he can fill the void at quarterback the Tigers have been without for nearly a decade. For Florida QB Feleipe Franks, the question remains if can he play well enough to avoid the offensive performance seen four weeks ago vs Kentucky.

I see this matchup, not in terms of which QB wins the game, but which QB loses the game. I have not seen enough consistent results from Franks to believe the Gators can shock the Tigers in Gainesville.

Kentucky vs. Texas A&M in College Station, TX

Don’t let this game make you forget about that time Bear Bryant left Kentucky for A&M in 1954.

It’s safe to say that UK is at least the second hottest team in the SEC East this season. They are riding on all cylinders. Their offense may not be the most high-powered one you’ve seen but their defense is outstanding. They could viably be undefeated before facing Georgia.

Now the Wildcats are traveling to College Station, where a 3-2 Aggie team is looking to stay alive in the SEC West hunt. A win over an undefeated and No. 13 ranked Kentucky Wildcats would be a big boost to the quick rebuild Jimbo Fisher is attempting.

The Aggies sputtered a bit last week but managed to get past the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Hogs had not played well to that point. This week we will learn if the Hogs are improving or if TAMU had an off-week.

I predict the Wildcats Kentucky will continue to prove its dominance, remain undefeated and become bowl-eligible.
