Alabama Football: Missouri weekend brings in 5-Star recruits
By Ronald Evans
Alabama football is hosting a large number of recruits for Homecoming weekend including a couple of BIG-name 5-Star recruits in the 2019 and 2020 classes.
Alabama football has a large number of recruits visiting Tuscaloosa for Homecoming weekend. Many of them are from 2020, including the No. 1 rated player in the nation for the class. The biggest buzz for the Missouri weekend is the visit by 5-Star and No. 1 rated DT in the 2019 class, Ishmael Sopsher.
Sopsher is from Amite, LA, as is Alabama football wide receiver, Devonta Smith. Big Ish has been the top 2019 priority for Ed Orgeron for over a year. The Bengal Tigers have a huge home date with Georgia on Saturday and Sopsher opting for a Tuscaloosa rather than a Baton Rouge visit is significant.
A few well-connected insiders have for months been predicting Sopsher to the Crimson Tide. Ishmael keeps his recruiting thoughts guarded. The pressure on him to choose LSU is unrelenting. Amite is less than sixty miles away from the home of the Bengal Tigers.
One wrinkle in the recruitment of Sopsher is his brother, Rodney Sopsher. Rodney is a 3-Star JUCO player. LSU has offered both of the brothers. The Sopsher boys and other family members will be in Tuscaloosa this weekend. The Sopsher drama will not end soon. Ishmael is not expected to announce until February NSD.

The other big 5-Star visiting Tuscaloosa is 2020 DE, Bryan Bresee. The competition is fierce for this No. 1 player in the 2020 class. Alabama will have to fight off Georgia, Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State (and many others) for the Damascus, MD high school player.
Earlier this week, another 5-Star was expected in Tuscaloosa. Nakobe Dean, ILB from Horn Lake, MS has three times appeared to be making a Tuscaloosa visit, only to announce the visit would be pushed back to a later date. He is now expected to visit Iron Bowl weekend. He plans to commit in December and enroll early. The same insiders mentioned above believe the Crimson Tide is in a great position to land Dean.
The biggest 2020 4-Star recruits in Tuscaloosa for the Missouri game are Kayshon Boutte and Kristian Story. Boutte, from New Iberia, LA is the No. 11 rated wide receiver and the No. 66 overall player in the 2020 class. Story is from Lanett, AL and is a former Tennessee commit. He is rated as the No. 94 player overall and the No. 7 ATH in the 2020 class.
There is speculation the Crimson Tide could pick up a 2020 commitment this weekend in 4-Star, OL, Paul Tchio. Tchio is rated as the No. 22 OT in the 2020 class.
The Crimson Tide got some other 5-Star good news this week. The 2019 class, No. 2 rated player and Georgia commit, Nolan Smith announced he will take all his official visits. The only official Smith has announced so far is to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl.

While we are discussing 5-Star recruits, another 5-Star is in Tuscaloosa this weekend. Avery Johnson is working hard to add big-man Drew Timme to the 2019 class.
