Mississippi State keeps Alabama football on its toes

Talking heads hastily point out Alabama’s schedule while they are humiliating opponents weekly. Leading up to the LSU contest, all you hear is how the Tigers will keep the game close. After Alabama snatches their soul, the following week all we will listen to is now the SEC Championship game is their biggest test.

Hold up!

The team that will give Alabama its biggest test are the Bulldogs. Every year, all the pent-up emotion from the Tide poured over into the LSU game, and they come out flat versus Mississippi State. Expect the same this year.

Their stud defense will make Alabama earn every yard they gain. In their wins over Texas A&M, the Bulldogs allowed 293 yards of total offense. Even in their loss to LSU, the defense gave up just 239 yards. Montez Sweat and Jeffrey Simmons are full, grown men who will give the Alabama offensive line some problems.

The difference in the game is the Crimson Tide’s ability to suffocate Nick Fitzgerald. The senior is a solid runner with questionable passing skills. In the LSU loss, he finished 8-of-24 for 59 yards and four interceptions. Completely unacceptable for the leader of your offense.
