This game will showcase the return of the Saban-like Alabama football that Crimson Tide fans have become oh-so-familiar with.

The 2018 season has been quite foreign to Alabama football fans. From the steady offense to the young defense, this year’s squad has seemed almost un-Saban-like. Crimson Tide fans, as historical as the program may be, are not used to these unbelievable Cinderella stories. And if anything is for sure, it’s that 2018 has been nothing short of a Cinderella story for Alabama football.

There is no denying that the Crimson Tide’s defense has grown. With a push from a few questionable offensive decisions, the D put their big boy pants on and showed that Alabama is still strong on both sides of the ball. It is the will, the power, and the grit that hides deep inside that young defense that will assure a victory for the Tide on the 29th.

Oklahoma and Alabama will both come into the Orange Bowl with incredible and extraordinarily talented offenses. But, it will not be their offense that decides the game. Numbers talk and the numbers from the 2018 season are telling me that Oklahoma’s defense doesn’t have that will. They don’t have that power. And they don’t have that grit.

On the other hand, Alabama’s does.

2018 cannot come to a close without the third chapter of the Cinderella story, and on December 29th in Miami, FL, the Crimson Tide’s defense will deliver that third chapter. Game by game the defense has grown and shaped up. It is time that they put on one of the most astounding performances in bowl history. The Saban-like style of defense will return at the Orange Bowl.

Prediction

Oklahoma, Kyler Murray, and Lincoln Riley will come to play, that’s for sure. They will, most likely, put on a fashionable offensive show. Alabama football will do the same. But expect one of those teams to find the end zone quite a few more times than the other. A wise man once said, “Offense sells tickets, but defense wins championships”. Crimson Tide fans, I hope you are ready to win a championship. Alabama finds its stride and the defense comes alive. The Tide easily surpasses the Sooners and finds themselves, once again, in the National Championship picture.
