Alabama Football: Crimson Tide maintains No. 1 2020 verbal commits

Alabama football has ten more months to gain a ninth No. 1 signing class in the last ten recruiting cycles. The Tide is currently No. 1 with 15 commits.

Alabama football solidified another No. 1 signing class with its 2019 signees and enrollees. Going back to the 2011 signing class the Alabama Crimson Tide has finished No. 1 every season except for the 2018 class. The Crimson Tide is currently No. 1 in the 2020 signing class.

Alabama football leads the Team Rankings because it has the largest number of verbal commits at 15.

The Alabama Crimson Tide is not No. 1 in average player rankings. Clemson with 11 commits has a 94.73 average. Ohio State with eight commits has an average of 92.87. LSU with 11 commits has an average of 93.34. The Crimson Tide is fourth in player average at 92.10.

Alabama football recruits on the basis on its own player assessments. A player labeled a 3-Star or even lower by the rating entities can be a priority for the Crimson Tide. The Tide’s 2020 commits included six players rated outside the nation’s Top 250 players. Two of those commits, rated at No. 644 and No. 932 overall have plenty of time to raise their ratings, as normally happens with Tide commits.

The state of Alabama has more than its normal share of talented players in the 2020 cycle and Alabama football is taking advantage. Seven members of the 2020 class are from the state of Alabama.
