Defense

The oft-debated defense took a significant leap forward against the Hogs. The Crimson Tide held Arkansas to 213 yards of total offense and seven points. Anfernee Jennings and Terrell Lewis are terrors on the edges. Pretty sure, Arkansas quarterback Nick Starkel will shudder whenever he thinks of the two linebackers. Lewis finished with six quarterback hurries and is rounding in shape as the Tide enters its stretch run for the playoffs.

Freshman linebacker Shane Lee delivered the team’s only sack. Pat Surtain II, Trevon Diggs, and Anfernee Jennings picked off Starkel.

Trevon Diggs

Last week, Diggs delivered the game-changing 100-yard scoop and score to put Alabama ahead for good against rival Tennessee. Saturday, Diggs found his way in the end zone again, courtesy of an 84-yard pick-six in the second quarter.

Joseph Bulovas and Ty Perine

When the season began, neither player was discussed as significant players for this season. Bulovas, filling in for injured freshman Will Reichard, knocked down two field goals and six extra points without a miss. HOORAY!

Alabama football crowd sensation Ty Perrine finished with a 47.5 average on two punts. His average in two games is better than Skyler Delong’s career average. JK Scott spoiled Tide fans forever, but the walk-on has filled in nicely.

The next man up has worked smoothly for special teams.
