Jerry Jeudy and Devonta Smith

During the television broadcast, NFL draft expert Todd McShay hinted at a possibility of all three of Alabama football starting receivers being drafted in the first round. One of the vaunted trio, Henry Ruggs III, suffered an injury in the third quarter and did not return. However, Jeudy and Smith continued to torture the Mississippi State defensive backfield. Jeudy (7 catches for 114 yards) and Smith (six for 92 yards). These guys do not disappoint.

Defense

Considered leaky by any Alabama fan with a heartbeat, the defense rebounded with a hellacious effort against the Bulldogs. Shane Lee intercepted the first pass of the game and led an inspired endeavor against a punchless offense. The true freshman led the team in tackles with 10, Anfernee Jennings added eight.  Limiting the team to 270 yards and one touchdown is significant as they gained 334 yards against stingy Auburn defense and 334 yards to LSU.
