No. 4 – Must Avoid – Derrick Brown cannot dominate
Gus Malzahn calls his exceptional defensive lineman, the most dominating player in college football. For once, Gus might be correct. Brown is in contention for the Lott Impact Trophy, the Nagurski Award and the Outland Trophy.
Every team double-teams Brown on almost every play. Below is one time when Georgia decided to not use a double-team.
Derrick Brown moves around the Auburn d-line, while mostly working inside. Kevin Steele will likely match him up against the Tide’s Evan Neal. Neal will need help.
No. 5 – Must Avoid – Don’t take the foot off the gas
The Crimson Tide is a better team than Auburn, even without Tua. Mac is no Tua, but it will be a mistake to become too predictable – too conservative, trying to not ask too much of Mac. Because of the Tide’s four great wide receivers and a talented receiver at running back, use the pass to set up the run. Don’t put the Ferrari in the garage. Maybe Mac can’t drive it as well as Tua but use the monster.
