5. 2018: Jalen Hurts’ returns as Superman in the SEC Championship

In 2017, Jalen Hurts was benched in the National Championship game in Atlanta against Georgia for Tua Tagovailoa to take over in the second half. Hurts then lost the starting job for the Alabama Football team despite going 26-2 as a starter. After being a great teammate and contributing when he could, his Superman moment came in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta against Georgia the following season.

A story even Hollywood couldn’t have created, Jalen Hurts came in when Tagovailoa went out with an injury and saved the day. He converted back to back third downs in the fourth quarter before finding Jeudy for a ten-yard touchdown pass with roughly five minutes remaining tying the game at 28.

On his next drive, Jalen found Irv Smith Jr and Jaylen Waddle for big gains before rushing for his final touchdown of the game to give the Tide its final lead of 35-28.
