The Alabama Crimson Tide could see a lot of changes in the quarterback room in 2020. Check out this bold prediction for the 2020 Crimson Tide quarterbacks.

Coming off a solid win in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl 35-16 over the Michigan Wolverines, the Alabama Crimson Tide are in a current limbo state. While the team and fans of Alabama are riding high after the win to finish the 2019 season 11-2, questions will need to be answered this offseason. One particular position group that has some questions that have blank spaces for answers is the quarterback position. In 2020 the Alabama Crimson Tide will look to answer “who will be the starting quarterback?” After the starting quarterback, what’s the Crimson Tide’s depth chart at QB? Another question that’s come up is where will highly-touted five-star quarterback Bryce Young fit in as a freshman? I attempt to answer these questions and present a bold prediction for the Alabama Crimson Tide’s QB room in 2020.

Tua Tagovailoa

On January 6th, 2020 Tua Tagovailoa will be announcing his decision on his future with the Alabama Crimson Tide. The first part to my bold prediction is that Tua Tagovailoa will leave Alabama, despite injury problems in 2019 and enter the NFL Draft. In doing so I believe that Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. This selection will create a domino effect for the Tagovailoa family as I believe his parents will follow him to Miami first. The Miami Dolphins will be getting a stellar quarterback and a franchise player that they can sit for at least a year behind Ryan Fitzpatrick to let Tua Tagovailoa heal from injury. The next phase of my bold prediction involves the new guy on campus five-star quarterback from Mater Dei High School Bryce Young.

Bryce Young

The number one dual-threat quarterback from Mater Dei High School out of California is going to not just fit in well, but possibly take over the quarterback situation in 2020 for the Alabama Crimson Tide as a freshman. He’s arguably one of the best quarterback recruits in recent years to come out of high school and could very well beat out other quarterbacks on Alabama’s roster. In 2019 as a senior at Mater Dei, Bryce Young led them to the quarterfinals of the California state playoffs. In four years at Mater Dei, Young had 13,250 yards passing, 152 touchdowns through the air, 1,084 yards rushing, and 26 rushing touchdowns. I think if he plays to potential, it’s Bryce Young’s job to lose this fall. He could definitely fight veteran quarterback on the depth chart Mac Jones and Taulia Tagovailoa. If he does end up the starter in spring that could drive one of the other quarterbacks to transfer out before this summer.

Mac Jones

A very talented quarterback who stepped in when Tua Tagovailoa was injured and did very well, Jones, in my opinion, will end up being the backup quarterback. Mac Jones has the right to a chance at the starting QB position for the Alabama Crimson Tide, but I think Bryce Young beats him out in the offseason. Mac Jones, however, possesses all the intangibles to take the starting position at any time. The Alabama Crimson Tide will look to use Mac Jones as the veteran backup to lean on if anything goes wrong in 2020 while Bryce Young is under center.

Taulia Tagovailoa

The little brother of Tua Tagovailoa in my opinion after spring ends up third on the depth chart at quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide. With this happening and Tua being drafted to the Miami Dolphins, I think Taulia may transfer to a destination close by in need of a quarterback. I have Taulia Tagovailoa transferring to the University of Miami Hurricanes and possibly having a fair amount of success. The Hurricanes under head coach Manny Diaz have a defense, but they need an offense to support it. Taulia could be the leader the Miami Hurricanes need on offense and leaving the Alabama Crimson Tide insures he doesn’t end up on the bench for his whole four-year college career. With Taulia Tagovailoa and a supporting cast on offense and defense, the Miami Hurricanes could win 9 or 10 games.

2020 Alabama Crimson Tide Bold Prediction

I predict Bryce Young will lead the Alabama Crimson Tide back to the College Football Playoff.
