How will the Alabama Crimson Tide finish the 2020 class on National Signing Day? Check out a ‘one day out’ projection of closing moves.
The Alabama Crimson Tide, 2020 Signing Class officially has 23 members. On National Signing Day (NSD) it appears certain the number will become 26. The remaining drama will come down to whether the Tide stops at 26 or adds one or two additional players.
Alabama Crimson Tide fans should be excited, even if the final class number is 26. It will not be the nation’s No. 1 class. It may not even be the No. 2 class. If a 27th and 28th player are added on NSD, the Tide will not reach No. 1. Wherever the Tide finishes in team rankings, it is a very strong class.
Going into NSD, the Alabama Crimson Tide has more 4-Star and 5-Star players signed than any other school. Check out the list below of the Tide’s Top 100 players, based on the 247Sports Composite.
- Bryce Young; 5-Star; No. 1 Dual QB and No. 2 player overall
- Will Anderson; 5-Star; No. 1 WDE and No. 17 overall
- Chris Braswell; 5-Star; No. 2 WDE and No. 19 overall
- Drew Sanders; 5-Star; No. 1 ATH and No. 22 overall
- Demouy Kennedy; 4-Star; No. 3 ILB and No. 38 overall
- Jase McClellan; 4-Star; RB and No. 46 overall
- Tim Smith; 4-Star; No. 8 DT and No. 55 overall
- Brian Branch; 4-Star; No. 3 S and No. 60 overall
- Quandarrius Robinson; 4-Star; No. 6 OLB and No. 64 overall
- Roydell Williams; 4-Star; No. 9 RB and No. 76 overall
- Ronald Williams; 4-Star; No. 4 CB and No. 12 overall (JUCO)
The three who will join the Tide on NSD are 4-Star, WR, Javon Baker; 4-Star, DT, Jamil Burroughs and 3-Star, OT, Damieon George.
The Alabama Crimson Tide may finish with 4-Star, McKinnley Jackson and 3-Star, Ennis Rakestraw.
Jackson is rated as the No. 8 DT. The best guess is he will sign with the Tide or with Jimbo Fisher at TAMU. LSU and Auburn appear to be out of contention. Jackson is scheduled to announce at 9:30 AM, CST on NSD. Rakestraw has a NSD announcement scheduled for 8:00 AM, CST.
Other targets expected to not sign with the Tide are 4-Star, OL, Sedrick Van Pran and 4-Star, DE, Alfred Collins. Van Pran is expected to stick with Georgia and Collins to stay close to home and choose Texas. Crimson Tide commit, Jayson Jones is expected to sign with Oregon.
