55. Wide Receiver. 198. Antonio Gandy-Golden. player. . . Liberty

In the final rounds, the Steelers will no doubt be looking for players who can grow and learn to contribute in a variety of ways. With 198th pick, the Steelers get a player who is that and more. Pittsburgh has been excellent at selecting wide receivers in recent years and a project pick on a talent such as Antonio Gandy-Golden is no different. A receiver with size, speed and playmaking ability, this Liberty product would make Pittsburgh faithful pleased.

Safety. Alabama. 232. . . Jared Mayden. player. 55

And yet another Alabama prospect joins the Steelers as Jared Mayden is the 232nd selection. The Steelers need special teams help and safety depth in a real way. Mayden’s versatility across the defensive backfield has seen his name inch up draft boards. In fact, Daniel Jeremiah has ranked Mayden as his 114th best player overall.

While that doesn’t equate to a guaranteed fourth or fifth-round pick for the defensive back, it does indicate there’s more to Mayden than many scouts and experts realize. All in all, the Steelers would find the proverbial “diamond in the rough” in drafting Mayden.

Overall, the Steelers might have a hard time getting Crimson Tide players at the right value. Still, the additions of Jennings and Mayden fit the Steelers well and would add to an already incredible defense.
