Round one of the NFL Draft will be a joyous evening for Alabama football. Expect six former Tide players to go in the first round. Check out a complete, seven rounds of predictions.
Alabama football coach, Nick Saban will truly miss being with his former players Thursday night. It will be the second year Nick has had to miss the Draft. Last year it was his hip replacement recovery. This year it is the unprecedented virtual draft.
No college coach sends players to the NFL with the frequency of Nick Saban. As Nick watches from home, it is probable Alabama football will set a new team record for first-round picks, while tying the all-time record for first-round picks in a single draft. Six is the number to tie the Miami Hurricanes and it is not outlandish to think former Crimson Tide players could reach that total in the first 20 selections.
NFL Drafts are fluid events and might be more so this year without physical war rooms for teams. Literally no one knows who will be drafted by what team and when. Not even the best NFL Draft pundits can do much more than guess.
How crazy will the 2020 NFL Draft be? There is a chance Jedrick Wills will be selected before Tua Tagovailoa. Wednesday buzz had the Dolphins trading up from No. 5 to take an offensive tackle. Nothing against Wills, who might go as early as No. 4 to the Giants anyway. If the Dolphins move up for any tackle, while passing on Tua, they deserve all future failure. The Chargers must be hoping the Dolphins will be so gutless.
