Alabama recruiting has seen a weak 2021 class, but they just landed a stud in Jacorey Brooks, the No. 3 receiver in the class.

It’s a common tradition for college football fans to keep up with Alabama recruiting classes, and the 2021 class has been weak so far. They only had three commitments going into today, but they just got better. Jacorey Brooks from Miami, Florida, committed to the Tide over the Gators.

Brooks is rated as the third-best receiver in the 2021 recruiting class by 247. As a big-bodied receiver, he racked in 18 receiving touchdowns on 99 catches in his senior year. His highlight reel shows plenty of physical catches that end with touchdowns. While he has speed, that will not be how he wins at Alabama. He will be more of a Julio Jones or Kevin Norwood type as opposed to a Henry Ruggs or Jerry Jeudy.

This talent at receiver will come at the perfect time. The expectation is for Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith to both be in the NFL by the time Brooks makes it to campus, so it was important to find the next receiving superstar in Alabama recruiting. He will likely be in a receiver room with John Metchie, Tyrell Shavers, Slade Bolden, and Thaiu Jones-Bell.

This isn’t the first Alabama recruiting gem out of South Florida. In recent memory, the Tide have recruited Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, and Calvin Ridley from this area. All of these receivers went on to be drafted in the first round and are currently in the NFL, so hopefully Jacorey Brooks continues that tradition for the Tide.

Brooks is not the only receiver in the 2021 class for Alabama. They also landed Agiye Hall’s commitment last month. With their combined size, the future of Alabama’s passing game is certainly in safe hands.

Next. Tide face toughest schedule since Saban. dark

Alabama recruiting still has a long way to go in the 2021 class, but this commitment should put Crimson Tide fans at ease. Saban still has some magic to work before this recruiting cycle is all said and done, and he has plenty of time to do it.
