Alabama Football: Tua Tagovailoa buys mom a Cadillac for Mother’s Day
By Dakota Cox
Weeks after being drafted by the Miami Dolphins, Alabama football’s Tua Tagovailoa decided to buy his mother a Cadillac to celebrate Mother’s Day.
Every person with strong family ties dreams of a certain moment. That moment where you can give a gift to your family to thank them for everything they’ve done for you. This Mother’s Day, Alabama football’s Tua Tagovailoa got to give that gift to his mom by buying her a Cadillac.
He shared the surprise on his Twitter with the caption “Happy Mother’s Day to a more than deserving Mother.” Tua has a famous connection with his family that traces back to his childhood. He has involved both of his parents in every step of his football process, and he takes every moment he can to thank them for what they’ve done for him.
The timing of this purchase makes sense. The former Alabama football star was drafted to play for the Miami Dolphins two weeks ago, and his first NFL contract comes with a signing bonus worth $19.5 million.
Tagovailoa also recently signed many endorsement deals. His biggest contract will undoubtedly be his agreement to be an Adidas athlete, which happened shortly before the 2020 NFL Draft. Add this in with Tua’s massive jersey sales, and the Tagovailoa family is already set for life before Tua even takes an NFL snap.
It’s always refreshing to see an athlete give back as soon as they start profiting off of their abilities. Tua is bound to make a few purchases for himself, but it shows his character that he spent his first major paycheck on his mother for Mother’s Day.
Alabama football fans will be continuing to root for Tua Tagovailoa as he continues his football journey. With his entire professional career ahead of him, the hope is that he will get to do more things like this for his family over the years. It will be interesting to see how he lives up to the expectation next Mother’s Day. It’s hard to find a gift better than a Cadillac.
