Alabama Football: NFL jersey swaps Tide fans want to see in 2020
By Dakota Cox
Alabama football players play each other in every week of NFL action. Which jersey swaps will we see at the end of the games?
Alabama football has been an NFL factory since Nick Saban became the Crimson Tide’s head coach. He has produced a first-round NFL Draft pick at every position outside of special teams, and he continues to churn out talent in Tuscaloosa. This past draft saw four players go in the first round from Alabama.
The beauty of Alabama football is that Tide players are always Tide players. They might be wearing new jerseys, but they are still a family. Because of this, we see family members battle against each other in every week of the regular season.
This camaraderie mixes into an NFL tradition when the clock hits zero. Tide players usually meet up on the field, catch up, and exchange jerseys from the game. These jersey swaps are done all over the NFL, but the Alabama ones carry a little more weight. Most jersey swaps are a sign of status or respect. You’ll see legends give their jerseys to rookies or receivers swap with cornerbacks. However, this is more of a souvenir for former teammates as they play against each other on the world’s biggest stage.
This season, there will be plenty of great matchups between for Alabama football players. With a new batch of rookies and new schedules, some players will face off against each other for the first time. There is no guarantee that there will be a jersey swap, but here are a few that Crimson Tide fans would love to see happen in chronological order. Let’s get started with Week One.
