Alabama Football: NFL jersey swaps Tide fans want to see in 2020
By Dakota Cox
Week 1: Tua Tagovailoa and Damien Harris
Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots
This is a great way to start this list. Tua Tagovailoa is going to need extra jerseys to do all of the jersey swaps. After all, he already has the two highest-selling jerseys in the NFL.
Damien Harris was only there for Tua’s sophomore season, but they had a great chemistry on the field. Damien was a leader for the Crimson Tide during his college football career. After winning the national championship as a junior with Tua, he decided to come back for one last ride in a crimson jersey. This year, Damien had over 1000 yards from scrimmage, and Tua was a Heisman Trophy finalist.
It would be amazing to see these two in the same backfield one day in the NFL, but we will have to settle for them being opponents for now. They will face off twice a year as long as they play for their current teams, so this might be the first of many jersey swaps we see.
I would be surprised if Tua started this game, but he will hopefully be dressed out. Unless he sees regression in his injury rehab, he should be theoretically cleared to play. Miami will still likely ease him into a starting role.
