The 2020 season, again has no hot seat for Alabama football, head coach Nick Saban. What about the rest of the SEC football head men?

Alabama football has head coaching continuity and stability. Like Nick Saban, Coach Ed Orgeron, fresh off a National Championship has a seat as cool as the other side of the pillow (hat tip to Stuart Scott). Several more coaches are secure for at least the 2020 season. A few, probably longer.

Then there are the guys, who in varying frequency, spend time looking over their shoulders. Check out this rundown beginning with Alabama football coach, Nick Saban and LSU coach, Coach O. Then follow the list down to the SEC’s hottest seats in the 2020 season.

Alabama Crimson Tide – Nick Saban

Little need be said. Arguably the greatest coach in college football history. Nick Saban, like Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant many years ago, will decide when to leave Alabama football. It will not be to coach any other football team in college or the NFL.

LSU Bengal Tigers – Ed Orgeron

One National Championship at LSU does not guarantee a lifetime contract in Baton Rouge. But it comes close. For Les Miles, two was not enough, for two reasons. LSU powerbrokers and many Tigers’ fans realized Les’ first National Championship was a team built by Nick Saban – at most, Les got half-credit. The final nail was the streak of six, straight losses to the Crimson Tide.

Coach O could reach lifetime contract territory with one more National Championship.
