Alabama football’s top 30 NFL Draft prospects: 24-22

24. C.J. Mosley, Linebacker

C.J. Mosley was a part of the second wave of the Alabama football dynasty. A handful of stars were great before him, but he was there as Nick Saban proved that what was happening could be sustained. Mosley was drafted late in the first round by the Ravens and went on to have a great start to his career there. After his contract ran out, he signed with the New York Jets. He is now one of the highest-paid linebackers in the NFL.

23. Dont’a Hightower, Linebacker

Hightower was the first stud inside linebacker of the Saban era. He will always be remembered for his ability to set the standard in Tuscaloosa. He will also be remembered for his high intelligence, strength in coverage, and ability to fill his gaps and stuff the running game. Hightower has been a career man with the New England Patriots, winning multiple Super Bowl rings after a great college football career. In terms of wins and championships, Hightower has been the most successful Alabama football player in history.

22. Da’Ron Payne, Defensive Tackle

Da’Ron Payne had a quiet college football career, but that is the life of a defensive tackle. If you’re not able to get a significant amount of sacks and forced fumbles, you’re just a run-stuffer. However, he was an incredible run-stuffer. He was athletic, strong, and agile for his size. However, his highlight moment happened when he caught an interception and caught a touchdown pass against Clemson in the College Football Playoff. This hype pushed him into the NFL Draft process, where he became a first-round pick and ended up being drafted by Washington.
