Alabama Basketball: Tide to host Jacksonville State in home opener

Alabama basketball fans are looking forward to facing JSU in the fall.
Alabama basketball’s full schedule has yet to be released, but fans can now plan for the first home game of the year after it was released by Luke Ratliff on Instagram Live. . This season, the Tide will play their first home game on Nov. 10 against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
This will be a battle of in-state opponents, and the Tide will be looking to jumpstart their season with a big home win. There will be plenty of new faces in Tuscaloosa as Jahvon Quinerly will likely start at point guard, but Alabama basketball will also be returning familiar faces as well. Herb Jones recently announced his return to the Tide after considering the NBA Draft, and he will be the face of Alabama basketball.
Alabama basketball is still waiting to hear from John Petty as his name is still in the NBA Draft pool, but they hope that he will return for his senior season. Either way, the Tide will be looking to shoot the lights out with Quinerly and Jaden Shackelford.
Alabama basketball had some early struggles last season, but the second year of the Nate Oats era will surely come with improvement. Defense will be a major point of focus. The Tide allowed 79 points per game last year, one of the worst in the country.
It’s still unclear as to what sporting events will look like in the fall. UA recently released plans for students to come back to campus in the fall, but the plan intentionally left sporting event details up in the air. That is because Alabama will mostly be following national guidelines, so there is no reason to provide speculation until the NCAA or the SEC release more information.
Alabama basketball hopes to be back in the SEC title conversation, and their home campaign will start against Jacksonville State. Tide fans will surely be rooting them on as they look for their first home win of many in the 2020-21 season.
