Best dog names for Alabama Crimson Tide fans: Football edition

There are tons of dog names that are football related. This is certainly the meat and potatoes of the list.

20. Bear

This is one of the most common dog names for Alabama Crimson Tide fans. It’s one of the few names on this list that isn’t a typical name for a person. Many people don’t like naming their dogs after human names, and this is a great route to take in that instance.

21. Saban

Nick Saban had to make this list in some form. Nick could be a good option, but Saban is much more popular. It makes the final list of almost every fan when they try to name their dog.

22. Terry

The First Lady of Alabama football had to make the list. Since a lot of these names only work for male dogs, this is a great option for any type of dog.

23. Kiffin

Lane Kiffin was a great offensive coordinator with plenty of flare. It might be odd to name your dog after Ole Miss’s current head coach, but it is definitely an option. After all, Lane Kiffin’s son is named after the city of Knoxville despite him coaching for four other schools since his time as Tennessee’s head coach.

24. Namath

Broadway Joe is one of the most famous Alabama Crimson Tide athletes of all time. Your dog’s namesake will be clear if you name them Namath, and it’s also a fun name.

25. Ozzie

Ozzie Newsome was a great player for the Crimson Tide back in the 70s. This name likely won’t ring a bell for younger Tide fans like some of the other options, but it is a great way to shout out a great member of Alabama’s history.

26. Crystal

This is due to the crystal trophy that went with the BCS National Championship era. The Crimson Tide won plenty of these back when they were used.

27. Heisman

Alabama has two Heisman Trophy winners in their history. If you want a name that goes more with general college football as opposed to the Alabama Crimson Tide itself, this is a great option.
