Best dog names for Alabama Crimson Tide fans: Football player edition
We’ve looked at the famous coaches and legends in the Alabama football category, but let’s look at some more recent athletes. Let’s start with some near the beginning of Nick Saban’s tenure with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
28. Julio
Julio will clearly be recognized as an Alabama name, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. He’s a legend in the state, and he’s had the best NFL career since Saban was hired.
29. Ingram
Mark Ingram might as well be the poster boy for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He’s a great supporter of the team, and he reps crimson everywhere he goes. Ingram is also a quality name for a larger dog breed. This might not fit as well for a corgi, but it would be great for a lab or a golden retreiver.
30. Cooper
Cooper is a great middle ground. Plenty of dogs and humans are named Cooper, so it isn’t obvious that your dog would be named after Amari Cooper. However, Amari was still one of the best receivers in college football when he played for the Tide. Some people love to be subtle with their names, and this hits the mark.
31. AJ
AJ McCarron won three rings during his time in Tuscaloosa, and he was the starting quarterback for two of them. If Tua had not went to Alabama, McCarron would hold almost every record in Tide history. He’s worth making this list for that alone.
32. Henry
Derrick Henry was a beast in 2015. His monster season smashed the record books and earned him a Heisman. You could name your dog Derrick if you wanted to, but Henry rolls off the tongue better.
33. Tony
Has anyone ever named their dog after Tony Brown? Probably not. Should they? Absolutely. Crazy Tony deserves to have a street named after him.
34. Harris
Damien Harris is a dog dad himself, so he would respect your decision to name your dog after him. He was a great ambassador for UA, and he’s a lovable guy. It’s impossible to root against such a wholesome player.
