Will Jason Marshall join the Alabama football 5-Star parade?
The Alabama Crimson Tide is in play to load up in the secondary for the Alabama football, 2021 recruiting class. One very important piece to that would be the 5-star defensive back, Jason Marshall. Marshall is a 6-feet-2 185-pound corner, who has the frame to put on 15 good pounds in the weight room.
For quite some time Marshall was thought to be a pretty big Florida lean. But as of late has been trending towards Alabama. In the Tide’s favor is the ability to not put players at the corner position in the league and also contending for National Championships. He’s a multi-sport player as being a basketball player. As a basketball player, Marshall has natural bounce in his steps and has loose hips to rotate with the wide receiver. One of the questions would be how does he develop in press coverage. At Palmetto high school in southern Florida, he was not asked to press very often.
As a junior Marshall tallied 44 tackles with 15 pass breakups and five interceptions. With over 25 offers Marshall has narrowed down to 3 schools of Florida, Alabama, and Clemson. Though Clemson isn’t thought to be in it, the loss of recruit Jordan Hancock could change things up a little. However, Alabama and Florida are much more likely. Marshall has come out and said playing and learning under Nick Saban is a dream come true.
The two main recruiters for Marshall are Karl Scott and Charles Huff. Huff has been absolutely on fire in the recruiting trail. Scott is one that Alabama fans should be liking more and more as the years go on. He is proving himself on and off of the football field. Marshall has visited Alabama before the dead period and he really enjoyed himself and how the program represents itself.
Current commits such as Agiye Hall, Dallas Turner, JC Latham and Christian Leary (all in the state of Florida) have been talking to Marshall. The quartet of Alabama football verbal commits say how much they like the Crimson Tide program and urge Marshall to join them. They tell Marshall how can come in and continue the dynasty of Alabama football for the next few years.
One positive note for the Crimson Tide possibly landing the elite corner is that one of his Gator recruiters will be leaving for MSU. Coach Jamar Chaney has been one of the top 2 recruiters for Marshall for the University of Florida.
If I were to make a prediction on who would land Jason Marshall, I would have to go with the Crimson Tide. Still in play, but bringing up the rear is Florida. If Marshall commits to the Tide anytime before he signs his letter of intent, Florida will be recruiting him until the end.
