Alabama football is looking to have the best 2021 recruiting class.

During the Alabama football dynasty, the Crimson Tide have been dominant in every aspect. They’ve destroyed the conference, they have the best coaches, and they recruit better than any other team.

This dominance has spanned over a decade, but it has subsided in recent years. Between Georgia, LSU and Tennessee recruiting well in the SEC, Clemson having their own powerhouse, and other great recruiters stealing Saban’s secrets, the battle for the best recruits has been harder than ever. Nonetheless, the Crimson Tide are able to compete with the best of them.

The Crimson Tide’s 2021 recruiting class got off to a shaky start, but they now have the second-best class in the nation. This is due to the recent additions of three stud offensive linemen. The class will only continue to improve over the late summer and beginning of the 2020 college football season.

Alabama doesn’t shoot for second-best, though. They want to end National Signing Day with the top class in the country. That is no guarantee, but it is certainly within the realm of possibility for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama football’s competition for top class

As of right now, their top competition is easily Ohio State. The Buckeyes have a significantly better class at this point, but they also have three more committed players. Let’s see how this competition will shake out over the next few months.

Alabama has a few more five-stars up their sleeve. Damon Payne and Ga’Quincy McKinstry will hopefully choose to play Alabama football soon. However, Ohio State is also looking to land more 5-star prospects in the 5-star hunt of 2021. These will even out.

Alabama will also get the famous “‘Bama bump” with some of their committed players. Athletes will go from 3-stars to 4-stars and from fringe 5-stars to cemented studs. This will make their class look better without adding a single prospect.

It will all boil down to what Alabama can do with those extra scholarships. Ohio State has more committed recruits as of right now, so watch out for the Crimson Tide to close that gap in the coming weeks.

Alabama certainly has a chance to earn the top 2021 recruiting class. Even if they don’t they are on course to have a historic group of prospects. Once you reach a certain level, it doesn’t matter what the other classes are doing. Alabama is plugging holes, adding stars, and looking to continue their dynasty.
