Alabama football should be glad to see these three players out of the SEC.

Alabama football has dominated the entire SEC in recent years, but 2019 included some struggles. Due to key injuries, the rise of the LSU Tigers, and inexperience on defense, the Crimson Tide could not achieve their normal goals.

Alabama never feels as if they have an unbeatable challenge in front of them. However, there were some superstars in the SEC last year. While the Tide could have beaten their teams if they had returned, Alabama football can still be glad that they’re gone. Let’s look at three players that I’m happy to see leave the SEC.

3 players that Alabama football is happy to see leave

1. Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

Okay, this one is obvious. Could Alabama beat LSU if Joe Burrow had another year of eligibility? Yes. They were just a couple of plays away from doing it last year. However, it has been nice to not have LSU’s hype boil over into 2020. With them losing their passing game coordinator, Heisman quarterback, and almost every starter, LSU is not expected to repeat.

It’s always nice to have the Heisman winner enter the NFL. You never want to hear the hype about a repeat over the summer. People instead get to hype up Joe Burrow’s rookie NFL season.

2. Derrick Brown, IDL, Auburn

Auburn had one of the best defensive lines in college football last year. Alabama’s offensive line will be great in 2020 and beyond, but I’m glad to see Brown leave for the NFL. He was a game wrecker. While other pieces of the Auburn defense are also leaving, he is the one that made everything else work. The Iron Bowl will be a lot smoother without Brown on the field.

3. Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia

Okay, this one has absolutely nothing to do with talent. Jake Fromm is a good quarterback, but he wouldn’t be the sole reason why Georgia would ever beat Alabama football. There are plenty of more talented players leaving the SEC. However, everyone used to compare Jake Fromm to Tua Tagovailoa. I didn’t want Fromm to come back and add to his stats to make that comparison fair. Fromm is not an elite SEC quarterback, and he will not be an NFL starter. I’m just glad to see him leave so we don’t have to talk about him anymore.

Alabama football will be without their own stars. While Crimson Tide fans will miss Jerry Jeudy and Tua, they will also be glad to see college football without Joe Burrow and others.
