More Alabama football talent onboard

  • Deontae Lawson (Mobile Christian School, Mobile, AL); 4-Star; No. 5 rated inside linebacker and No. 110 player overall. Lead recruiters are Sal Sunseri and Pete Golding.
  • Christian Leary (Edgewater High, Orlando, FL); 4-Star; No. 21 wide receiver and No. 124 player overall. Lead recruiters are Jeff Banks and Holman Wiggins. Despite the difference in ranking, not much separates Christian Leary and Aglye Hall. Check out Leary’s highlights below.
  • Kendrick Blackshire (Duncanville High, Duncanville, TX); 4-Star; No. 7 rated inside linebacker and No. 150 player overall. Lead recruiters are Jeff Banks and Pete Golding. Blackshire is already physically capable of playing inside linebacker for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He carries 245 pounds well with apparently no speed deficit.

Blackshire has 29 offers, most from top programs. Pulling him away from the Longhorns and the Aggies was a Crimson Tide coup.

The six guys listed below should not be underappreciated. All of them have the potential to become Alabama Crimson Tide starters. Alabama football fans should not be misled by the 3-Star rankings.

  • Kaine Williams (John Ehret High, Marrero, LA); 4-Star; No. 6 safety and No. 153 player overall. Lead recruiters are Pete Golding and Charles Kelly.
  • James Brockermeyer (All Saints, Fort Worth, TX); 4-Star; No. 1 rated center and No. 187 player overall. Lead recruiters are Karl Scott and Kyle Flood.
  • Ian Jackson (Prattville High, Prattville, AL); 4-Star; No. 15 outside linebacker and No. 232 player overall. Lead recruiters are Charles Kelly and Pete Golding.
  • Kadarius Calloway (Philadelphia High, Philadelphia, MS); 3-Star; No. 24 rated athlete and No. 364 player overall. Lead recruiters are Freddie Roach and Charles Kelly. Credit Roach for the decommit from Mississippi State to the Crimson Tide. Another factor could have been a rapidly filling class.
  • Devonta Smith (LaSalle High, Cincinnati, OH); 3-Star; No. 30 rated cornerback and No. 401 player overall. Lead recruiters are Charles Huff and Karl Scott.
  • Anquin Barnes (Robert E. Lee High, Montgomery, AL); 3-Star; No. 32 rated defensive tackle and No. 488 player overall. Lead recruiters are Charles Kelly and Freddie Roach.

There is at least one more 5-Star high on the Crimson Tide. Can the Tide land Jason Marshall? In-state, 5-Star, GaQuincy McKinstry could be another.

That’s it for now. Sixteen on the way to 25 or maybe 26. Just for laughs, check out how Auburn’s class is currently ranked. It is outside the Top 30, with eight SEC schools ranked higher.
