Alabama Football: Crafting the perfect 10-game schedule for the Tide
By Dakota Cox
Alabama football’s perfect schedule (continued).
Oct. 10: vs. Texas A&M
The Aggies are going to be a tough opponent in 2020. There’s no avoiding them. I like playing them early as a way to slowly progress the difficulty of the season.
Oct. 17: BYE
It would be perfect for the byes to be placed evenly. If we’re assuming that there are two bye weeks, let’s put one after three games. This will give them two weeks until their next opponent, which is great in case any athlete tests positive for COVID and has to quarantine.
Oct. 24: vs. Georgia
If we’re fixing the schedule, Alabama would love to play Georgia after a bye week. It would keep the team rested before one of the biggest games of the entire college football season.
Oct. 31: @ Tennessee
Tennessee is usually played near the third Saturday of October, but Alabama also usually gets Saban’s birthday off. With fall break canceled, let’s go ahead and play this week. Tennessee is on the rise, so this will be an interesting game.
Nov. 7: vs. Missouri
This is one of the two games that I added. Missouri will be near the bottom of the SEC East. While it would be nice to boost the strength of schedule, this slate is strong enough. Take the easy win, and get to your next bye week.
