After spectacular July for Alabama football recruiting, what’s next for the Tide.

Alabama football had a sizzling month in recruiting. Arguably July was the best Crimson Tide recruiting month ever. What lies ahead for the 20201 recruiting class? December is a long way off and if no fall official visits are allowed there has been conjecture the Early Signing Period (ESP) might be pushed back.

A delay in the ESP could conflict with recruits intending to enroll in January. Incoming students must have the opportunity to enroll early. A greater possibility is no delay of the ESP and a record number of recruits signing early.

When the Alabama football 2021 class is final, the targets named below are the most likely to be included. Will the final numbers take the Crimson Tide, currently rated No. 2 class, based on the 247Sports Composite, to No. 1 for 2021? It is too early to tell but the final rankings should be close, with the Crimson Tide possibly over-taking the Ohio State Buckeyes and holding off the Clemson Tigers.

A current and detailed list (with highlight videos) of the Crimson Tide’s 16 verbal commits is linked here. Will the final count be 25, 26 or 27? A best guess in 26.

Crimson Tide fans are hoping for more 5-Stars and two or three flips from other schools. The first group of names below are targets we expect to choose other schools.

  • 5-Star, CB, Jason Marshall to Miami
  • 5-Star OL, Amarius Mims to Georgia
  • 5-Star, DL, Maason Smith to LSU
  • 4-Star, WR, Brian Thomas Jr. to LSU
  • The Crimson Tide staff will not give up on another four, 5-Stars who would be major coups, even though unlikely to choose the Tide. They are DE, Korey Foreman,  OL Tristian Leigh, RB Camar Wheaton and DE, J. T. Tulmoloau.

Alabama Football Projected 2021 Additions

  • 5-Star, CB, Ga’Quincy McKinstry
  • 4-Star, DE, Monkell Goodwine
  • JUCO, CB, Khyree Jackson
  • 3-Star, TE, Robbie Ouzts
  • 4-Star, WR, Michael Johnson Jr.
  • 4-Star, DE DE, Shemar Turner
  • 4-Star, DT, Tim Keenan
  • 4-Star, LB, Xavian Sorey

That would give the Crimson Tide 24, 2021 signees. The remaining one or two are expected to go to ether a QB (Jalen Milroe or Luke Altmyer) or another offensive lineman (if no Mims or Leigh, or probably 3-Star,  William Parker.

if no Milroe or Altmyer, Nick Saban might wait and later add a Graduate Transfer. Not taking another QB, could allow room for 4-Star, DB, Terrion Arnold.

Next. Damon Payne's verbal commit means more. dark

That’s it Alabama football fans – an early August look at the final 2021 class for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Will there be changes in the coming months? Absolutely.
