Alabama Football: Big Ten and Pac-12 players the Tide should target
By Dakota Cox
With some conferences canceling the season, Alabama football should snatch up these stars.
The fallout of college football being canceled is still ongoing, but we have a few details. As of right now, the Big Ten and the Pac-12 are looking to postpone the season until the spring, while other conferences are still planning to play. This might give Alabama football an opportunity to steal some recruits.
This is purely hypothetical, but college football players are going to want a chance to play this fall. The logistics of a spring season and an NFL Draft in April make it too hard to rely on that. If football is being played anywhere at the college level, athletes are going to try to join in on the fun.
This could lead to plenty of athletes transferring out of the Big Ten and the Pac-12. Would they be allowed to play immediately? I don’t know. Would there be room on rosters? There’s no telling. Would the Crimson Tide be willing to take some more players if it all works out? Absolutely.
Alabama football should target these transfers.
Shaun Wade, CB, Ohio State
Wade returned for another year with the Buckeyes, but I doubt he’d be willing to wait until the spring. As a first-round talent, he could consider training all year until the 2021 NFL Draft. However, he has been very vocal on social media about wanting to play college football. Alabama would love to add some depth to the secondary this year. A cornerback duo of Patrick Surtain and Shaun Wade would be one of the best in college football history.
