Bold predictions for Alabama football’s opponents: Tennessee Volunteers

Tennessee will be the most improved team in 2020.

It feels like forever ago since Tennessee started the season 0-2 with embarrassing losses to Georgia State and BYU. Tennessee was the hottest team in the SEC at the tail end of the season, going from 1-4 to 8-5. It appears that Jeremy Pruitt earned the respect of the locker room after a tough start. I believe that he will take that success and build on it in the coming year.

We all saw what Pruitt could do when he was the defensive coordinator for Alabama football. He thrives on strong defensive lines and disciplined players across the board. When he gets more time to recruit his own players, he will have the Volunteers ready to compete for a divisional title.

Tennessee is good enough to potentially upset either Florida or Georgia. If they had fans in the stands, they might even give Alabama a run for their money. They also added Texas A&M and Auburn to the schedule.

I’m not saying that they will have the most improved record, but I think they will be better from a talent perspective after another season of Jeremy Pruitt. The season really could go either way. They could lose all of the previously mentioned games and go 5-5. They could possibly go 8-2 if absolutely everything goes right. It will be fun to watch.
