Although we aren’t sure what all was discussed during this meeting, it’s safe to assume that Michael Jordan had plenty of wisdom to share with the athletes. He might have discussed how to have a championship mindset in the midst of uncertainty, something he learned during his historic NBA career.

MJ isn’t the first celebrity that has talked to Alabama football players. The late Kobe Bryant gave a speech on the Mamba mentality. Coach Saban has also asked for Stephen A. Smith to speak to the team on multiple occasions.

These conversations are always helpful to the football team. They get to learn from some of the most successful minds in different aspects of life. It can make them better athletes, adults and members of society.

A big part of Nick Saban’s recruitment pitch to families is that he turn`s boys into men. He helps them in whatever professional path they pursue. These meetings with professional athletes assist in that. If players dream of being drafted and playing in the NFL, then they probably learned something about having a strong work ethic that they can apply to their craft. If they just want a college degree before entering the workforce, then they can take this information and develop as a professional.

No matter what the GOAT said to the Alabama football team, it was surely helpful. Even if he told old NBA stories, the morale boost of having that kind of celebrity speak to you is invaluable. With the uncertainty of the college football season, every little morale boost matters. These are the perks of playing for the Crimson Tide.
