With the start of fall camp comes an updated Alabama football roster
On the first day of fall camp, an updated Alabama football roster was released. The details include first official heights and weights for the summer-arriving, new players. Quite a few returning players are now listed at new playing weights.
There were also player changes in the roster. Tight end, Caden Clark, not fully healthy from a knee injury, will not be on the 2020 roster. He will grayshirt and join the Crimson Tide in January. Junior punter, Skyler DeLong, who had reportedly entered the transfer portal recently, is still on the roster. Competition at punter got tougher this week. J.K. Scott’s younger brother, Charlie Scott will transfer from Air Force to walk-on for the Crimson Tide.

Charlie Scott was the starting punter for Air Force the last two seasons. Scott averaged over 40 yards a punt. Scott will compete with DeLong, Ty Perine and possibly Will Reichard to become the starting Crimson Tide punter. Many Alabama football fans prefer Reichard to be solely used as a placekicker specialist, thereby reducing injury risk.

- The best weight news is Ishmael Sopsher down from 334 pounds to 310. Ish reportedly was over 350 when he came to Tuscaloosa.
- Christian Harris has also dropped weight from 244 pounds to 232 pounds. Alabama football fans are expecting a big season from Harris and dropping 12 pounds should make the already fast, Christian, even faster.
- 12 Alabama football players added 10 or more pounds, Among them are Landon Dickerson (plus-17 to 325); Amari Kight (plus-16 to 318); Michael Parker (plus-16 to 232); Traeshon Holden (plus-12 to 208); Jase McClellan (plus-12 to 212); Jaylin Armour-Davis (plus-10 to 192); Marcus Banks (plus-10 to 180). In the not so good news weight area, Deonte Brown added 12 pounds, putting him at 350 pounds and what must be maximum playing weight for him.
- Among the quarterbacks, Mac Jones added nine pounds to reach 214; Paul Tyson is plus-8, making him 228 and Bryce Young added four pounds to reach 194.
