Will Alabama football have the best SEC record?

It took far too long, but we finally have the schedule for SEC football teams. That means that we can take an in-depth dive with predictions for Alabama football and other teams around the conference.

The order in which you play the games matters for these predictions. It causes the possibility of teams to get hot early. Trap games exist when you have an easier opponent sandwiched between two tough rivals. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what we should expect from every team in the SEC in terms of record.

How will Alabama football’s record compare with other SEC teams?

Florida Gators: 9-1

I believe that Kyle Trask has what it takes to carry the Florida Gators to the SEC Championship. They got lucky with their additional SEC West games, so they really just have to worry about LSU and Georgia. If they can split those games, they’re on track for something special.

Georgia Bulldogs: 8-2

Georgia has to play their four toughest opponents in the first seven weeks of the season. We all know the challenges of playing Alabama football and the Auburn Tigers, but watch out for the trap game sandwiched in between those opponents. Tennessee is on the rise, and they might just catch Georgia off guard in Week 3.

Kentucky Wildcats: 5-5

I did not go into this exercise high on the Wildcats, but they have a favorable SEC schedule. If they can get the quarterback situation worked out, watch out for them to turn some heads in the SEC East. They won’t compete for the division, but they will be a tough opponent in any given week.

Missouri Tigers: 2-8

The Tigers barely made it to .500 last year with Kelly Bryant. With so much changing, I don’t see them being very competitive in the SEC East. Thankfully, they get to play Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Arkansas.

South Carolina Gamecocks: 2-8

I’m a lot lower on the Gamecocks than most, but I don’t think that Ryan Hilinski is as good as advertised. Losing Javon Kinlaw will show a lot of weaknesses that got overlooked last year on defense.

Tennessee Volunteers: 6-4

Tennessee has been recruiting well, they were one of the hottest teams in the SEC East towards the end of last year, and their quarterback situation is better than you might expect. If Jeremy Pruitt can get a winning season out of 2020, watch out for him to continue to lead this team in the right direction.

Vanderbilt Commodores: 1-9

I’m sorry, dandy Vandy fans. Please don’t hate me. If it helps, you’re not the worst team in the SEC (click the next slide for more information).
